GCSE success for Ark St Alban’s students!
We are celebrating GCSE results once again at Ark St Alban’s with 70% of our pupils achieving the new benchmark score of 4 or better in their English and maths GCSEs (equivalent to a C grade) - and 20% passing the ‘EBacc’ at grades 9 to 5 – a basket of academic subjects that are valued by top universities and employers.
Students studying English did particularly well, with 75% achieving a grade 5 or better in both Language and Literature (equivalent to a B and above). It was another strong year for Triple Science too, with 100% of students achieving a grade 4 or better in both Chemistry and Biology.
We are very proud of all our students, and some individuals have really shone this year. In particular, Anisa Ahmed is St Alban’s ‘star’ student achieving three grade 9’s, five grade 8’s, one grade 7 and a grade 6. Anisa is going on to study Economics, History and Mathematics at Ark St Alban’s Sixth Form.
Ark St Alban’s Principal Mark Dalton said:
I am pleased with this set of results. With our students sitting a variety of new, more challenging examinations this year, it is great to see that results are very positive and improving.
Our students have shown tremendous commitment and worked hard to achieve their potential and this is reflected in our attainment and progress scores which are once again well above the average nationally.
Thank you to our students, our staff and our families for their continued hard work and support of Ark St Alban's Academy. I look forward to welcoming students back into our sixth form in September.
