We are celebrating GCSE results once again at Ark St Alban’s with 71% of our pupils achieving the new benchmark score of 4 or better in their English and maths GCSEs (equivalent to a C grade) - and 11% passing the ‘EBacc’ at grades 9 to 5 – a basket of academic subjects that are valued by top universities and employers.
Students studying English did particularly well, with 78% achieving a grade 4 or better in language and a phenomenal 93% achieving the same measure or better in literature. It was another stellar year for Triple science too, with 100% of students achieving a grade 4 or better in biology, chemistry and physics. To compliment these, we are also extremely proud of our students who studied religious education and computer science, as in each case 100% of students achieved a grade 4 or better.
We are very proud of all our students, and some individuals have really shone this year. In particular, Farhad Norouzi is one of St Alban’s ‘star’ students achieving fives grade 9’s, two grade 8’s, one 6 and an A in additional mathematics. Farhad is going on to study Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at Ark St Alban’s Sixth Form.

I am really pleased with this set of results. Our students have shown tremendous commitment and worked hard to achieve their potential and this is reflected in our attainment and progress scores which are once again well above the average nationally.
Thank you to our students, our staff and our families for their continued hard work and support of Ark St Alban's Academy. I look forward to welcoming students back into our sixth form in September.
