The Computer Science and iMedia department aims to engage and inspire students whilst equipping computing and ICT skills that will help them to succeed academically. We offer the new computing curriculum at key stage 3 focusing on computational thinking.  At key stage 4 we offer both GCSE Computing and the Cambridge National Creative iMedia. At key stage 5 we offer Computer Science.

In preparation for GCSE Computer Science students develop their understanding and knowledge of problem solving. They dry run algorithms and learn to use pseudo code to develop their programming skills. They increase the complexity of the programs they can code and develop more efficient solutions to coding problems.

In preparation for the Cambridge National in Creative iMedia students learn about how to use the Microsoft Office environment more effectively. They will also learn about the fundamental of design and how to use advanced design tools. Units of study include web design and animation.
