Support for returning teachers
Monday 22 February 2016
Ark St Alban’s Academy is delighted to be working with a number of local secondary schools on a new government pilot initiative called ‘Supporting Returning Teachers.’ The pilot is targeted at qualified secondary school teachers in EBacc* subjects, who are working in other professions or who are not currently employed by a school. Customised support might include updating of subject knowledge, classroom experience and even interview practice, preparing colleagues to return to teaching.
If you, a family member or someone you know has Qualified Teacher Status, and are thinking about returning to teaching, come along to an open evening to find out more:
- Thursday 25 February (17.30 – 18.45)
- Thursday 17 March (17.30 – 18.45)
Both events are being held at Waverley School, 311 Yardley Green Road, B9 5QA.
To book a place, contact Chris Pegg: firstname.lastname@example.org, 0121 566 6600 (ext. 31062).
*Our project will focus on teachers of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Maths and Modern Languages. There is further information about support available and the national pilot on the Department for Education website: www.education.gov.uk/returners
