St Alban – our Patron Saint
Saint Alban is respected as the first recorded British Christian martyr (A martyr is a person who is killed because of their testimony to their faith).
Saint Alban along with Julius and Aaron were the earliest recorded martyrs from Roman Britain.
Roman Britain was comprised of all countries within Great Britain at a time where it was governed by the Roman Empire from 43 to 410 AD.
St Alban is traditionally thought to have been executed in the Roman city of Verulamium which is now formally known as St Alban's in Hertfordshire.
Our local church of Highgate is named after St Alban a man that underwent persecution and gave his life for his faith. He truly underpins our values of integrity, belief and discipline.
