In2MedSchool is an award-winning, registered charity. They have developed an initiative and unique programme for widening participation for pupils throughout the UK. Largely supporting schools and communities with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds with applications to study Medicine and healthcare-related degrees at university. The programme consists of 1-to-1 mentorship from a UK medical student or doctor, online and in-person events related to medical school applications, medicine lifestyle, and medical career options, school visits introducing younger learners to healthcare careers, resources related to the medical school application process, work experience opportunities through collaborations with hospitals, GP surgeries and nursing homes. The first session introduced pupils to the expectations and support they can expect to receive throughout the next 10 months. Pupils had an insight to medical practice and the standards that need to be met for them to aspire to become a medical professional.
