Year 12 pupils were fortunate to have mock interviews with professionals from Deloitte, which is one of the big four professional services organisations in the UK. All pupils were given an individual time slot to meet with professionals. They were asked a series of questions and received feedback on their overall performance, whilst having the advantage of a professional quality assurance check over their CV. It was an ecstatic and tremendous success.
This was such an invaluable, evocative, lucrative, and impactful opportunity for our pupils to participate in, which has hopefully given them a transparent view of what the world of work will present to them, but also armed them with the tools and sureness they need to navigate and be successful in future interviews they will be subjected to.
Our Deloitte professional volunteers expressed that it was an extremely enjoyable experience that they would like to come back and support us again in the future, and that our pupils were a delight to work with, they were model pupils, and their mannerisms and conduct were impressive, which is extraordinary and refreshing feedback to receive at our end. Furthermore, our pupils were inundated with gratitude and expressed that they relished the experience.
Some of the feedback from pupils were, ‘Wow miss this was epic, I first went in and was anxious, but by the time I left, I was on cloud nine’ and ‘Omg miss, this was amazing, can I do it again’ and ‘I aspire to be like that employer when I’m older’. As you can see from the statements above, this was some lovely feedback to hear.

As part of Character and exploring the big question 'Where am I going next?' pupils are allowed to meaningfully engage with employers and apprenticeship providers so they can make well-informed decisions about their futures.
