KPMG workplace visit
As part of our work experience week, we attended a workplace visit with some of our year 10 pupils at the Birmingham City Centre KPMG office on Monday 03rd July 2023. This visit focused on building the necessary employability skills that will equip pupils for future success. Pupils got to hear from a range of professionals about their individual experiences and pathways, some professionals that went the standard route to university, some that completed an apprenticeship and others that didn’t attend university or do an apprenticeship, which gave pupils further insight to what a future in this organisation could be like for themselves. Pupils had to work in groups and were set a challenge to design some futuristic technology that could aid emergency services workers as first responders to patients in critical conditions. All pupils took the challenge on and worked exceptionally well to put their ideas together and come up with some practical and proactive ways to target patient needs. In groups, pupils had to present their ideas to the rest of the audience. We also were fortunate to get a tour of the office and seen some of the different departments. This exposure to the workplace environment will support pupils next steps in life with their career decision making.
