Year 12 pupils were fortunate to have mock interviews with an array of professionals from HSBC, who are one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations. They were all allocated an individual time slot for them to be asked a series of questions and receive feedback on their overall performance, whilst having the advantage of a professional quality assure and check over their CV. It was a fantastic and extremely huge success.
This was such an invaluable, meaningful, lucrative, and impactful opportunity for our pupils to participate in, which has hopefully given them a transparent view of what the world of work will present to them, but also equipped them with the tools and confidence they need to navigate and be successful in future interviews they will be exposed to.
Our HSBC professional volunteers expressed that it was an extremely enjoyable experience and that they would like to come back and support us again in the future, and that our pupils were a delight to work with, they were model pupils, their mannerisms and conduct were impressive, which is extraordinary and refreshing feedback to receive at our end. Moreover, our pupils were overwhelmed with gratitude and expressed that they enjoyed the experience.
Some of the feedback from pupils were, ‘wow miss this was so good, I first went in and was nervous, but by the time I left, I felt really good’ and ‘omg miss, this was epic, can I do it again’ and ‘I aspire to be like that employer when I’m older’. Just to leave you with some of the verbal feedback we have received so far.

As part of Character and exploring the big question 'where am I going next?' pupils are given the opportunity to meaningfully engage with employers and apprenticeship providers so they can make well informed decisions about their futures.
