It was fantastic to welcome back our alumnus Ehsan Ibrahim, who returned to Ark St Alban’s Academy to speak with our Year 12 students about his journey since leaving sixth form. Ehsan shared insights into his current role working in Parliament, highlighting the wide-ranging and fast‑paced nature of political and media communications, as well as the significant responsibilities he holds supporting an MP.
Students particularly valued hearing about the experiences Ehsan has gained since leaving school, including his involvement in national political campaigns, work within Westminster, and how early engagement, perseverance, and building networks played a key role in shaping his pathway. The session was an inspiring and informative example of how students can progress into careers they may not have previously considered, and it was incredibly motivating for students to learn from someone who once sat in their seats.
As part of Character and exploring the big question 'Where am I going next?' pupils are allowed to meaningfully engage with employers and apprenticeship providers so they can make well-informed decisions about their futures.
