Year 12 Prefect, Ehsan, tells us about Culture Day.
The Sixth Form hosted the school's first-ever Culture Day on Thursday (17th Feb). It was a day to celebrate the numerous cultures that make up the Year 12 and Year 13 student body, with cultural food served, and music played in the background.
From Thobes, Salwar Kameez, and Diracs to Kurdish Krases and Faqianas, Sarees, and Algerian Haiks, we witnessed a wide range of colourful cultural apparel. The event was organised and arranged by STA's first generation of prefects, and their hours of hard work and commitment paid off with an amazingly successful event that raised £110.75 for charity.
Students could participate in various activities, including a 'Henna/Mehndi Stall,' a collective art project in the form of a canvas, and a 'Flag Painting Stall.' Without a doubt, the day was a resounding success that will be remembered fondly by staff and students.
