Young Enterprise is an educational charity that provides meaningful opportunities for young people to develop an enterprising mindset to apply crucial skills to navigate a successful future.
Young Enterprise works directly with young people, teachers, volunteers and influencers to build a successful and sustainable future for all young people. Our Year 10 young enterprise team decided to fundraise for their YE company by holding a bake sale. The bake sale took place on Thursday 25th November, during lunch and break; this helped the young entrepreneurs maximise their profits as they could sell to all the students across the different year groups. They planned the bake sale in their own time after school, where they decided to sell home-baked brownies, cupcakes, cookies, crepes, pancakes and much more.
The bakes proved to be a hit among the younger years, with the team selling most of their bakes during the first break. The group raised £135 from the bake sale and will use the funds to buy stock to create their products.
After weeks of brainstorming and board meetings, the company have decided to sell handmade jewellery. They will spend the remainder of the term creating their products, ready to be sold at the upcoming trade fair, where they will compete with other regional schools. The event was a massive success, and they would like to thank everyone who supported them by buying something and helping the company to grow.
