Welcome to the second week of the school year. Below I have included information and updates to guide you through the next few weeks.
Parent Information Events
Remember that the parents of each year group are invited to attend information events where plans for the year ahead will be discussed in detail.
All events will take place between 4-5pm on the dates below:
- Year 10, Thurs 28th September
- Year 7, Thurs 5th October
- Year 12, Wednesday 11th October
- Year 8, Thurs 12th October
- Year 9, Thurs 19th October

Year 6 Open Evening
Any families with pupils looking to join our school in Year 7 next year are encouraged to attend our Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday this week (21st September) at 4pm.
Sixth Form Open Evening
Any families with pupils looking to join our school in Year 12 next year are encouraged to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 4th October at 4pm.
At each of the parent information events listed above we will be launching an App called My Child At School (MCAS). The MCAS App allows parents to see information about their child being updated live each day, including their timetable, attendance and behaviour events.
You will receive an invitation to sign-up to MCAS by email on the same day as the parent information event scheduled for your child’s year group.
Remember that the doors open at 8.10am and pupils are expected to arrive before 8.20am, with those arriving after 8.20am receiving a late detention to serve at the end of the day.
Uniform & Equipment
Thank you for making sure that pupils have returned to school dressed smartly and wearing the correct school uniform. If you have any questions or would like further guidance about uniform, you can find our more on our uniform page.
Please also check that your child has all of the equipment that they require for school each day:
- Black pens
- Green pens
- Glue Stick
Clubs & Enrichment
Clubs start again this week and there is a long list of different activities for pupils to choose from. You can find the schedule for what is happening each day on our enrichment page. Please do encourage your child to get involved.
This list of clubs available includes the following:
Compulsory Homework Catch-Up began today, with any pupils not completing the homework due today kept behind at the end of the school day to complete the homework that they missed. This will now be the case every day moving forwards.
Homework club is also up and running between 3.00-4.00pm each day. It is a space where pupils can complete their homework at school supervised by school staff. There is no need to sign-up in advance.
Ofsted Research Visit
of Modern Foreign Languages. This means that for the day, we will have an Ofsted inspector working in the school, visiting lessons and meeting with pupils and colleagues.
Ofsted have provided the information sheet linked below for parents who would like to find out more about the visit and its purpose.
