Deloitte, one of the Big Fours!

Group of pupils in session

As part of our work experience week in year 10, some pupils participated on a programme with Deloitte. The programme ran over the course of three day’s which consisted of two days in school and a day at the Deloitte offices. Pupils were grouped into teams and were tasked with promoting a concept to tackle the growing effects of mental health within young people. They had to collaborate ideas to combat all challenges and pitch their concept to a senior Deloitte partner. The pupils involved performed well and the Deloitte partner was impressed by all their efforts. Pupils had a networking lunch and were fortunate to speak to current apprentices and senior employees at the organisation and find out about their individual experiences, which will give pupils further insight to what a future in this organisation could be like for themselves. They learnt more about routes into Deloitte careers and the wide range of roles that you can go into. This positive encounter should hopefully inspire and empower our pupils about the new generation of careers in the professional services sector. This visit was an extension of our wider careers engagement with professionals and should support the developmental process for pupils to build the necessary employability skills that will equip them for future success. This event should assist pupils to answer the ‘big question’ with supporting their next steps in life with their career decision making.

As part of Character and exploring the big question 'where am I going next?' pupils are given the opportunity to meaningfully engage with employers and apprenticeship providers so they can make well informed decisions about their futures.
