Exciting news! Our amazing pupils in year 12 just completed BT Group's Get Work Ready event in Birmingham City Centre. BT working in partnership with Connectr brought an enriching, interactive and creative employability workshop experience to all participants in attendance. There were pupils from other sixth forms and colleges who also participated in the event. Pupils were encouraged to network with each other and intentionally split into groups with others they don’t know. Moreover, this meant that pupils could build their confidence, communication, teamwork, and public speaking skills to collaborate their ideas for succeeding with their challenge.
During the session, they had dived into the world of digital, data and tech roles, learning how to showcase their individuality whilst getting hands on with a range of skills activities and challenges designed to help them in taking that all-important next step. From communication skills to mastering the art of collaboration, these pupils are now more than ready to tackle the challenges of a digital future! Pupils were exposed to professional volunteers from various departments who spoke about their individual pathways and experiences that they have encountered so far in the world of work. This was executed as a careers speed networking carousel and panel discussion with our professional volunteers.
A big thank you to BT for providing such a valuable opportunity for our pupils to enhance their employability skills.
