Ark St Alban’s Academy was delighted to host a representative from Aston University, for a special assembly aimed at Year 12 Pupils exploring their post-18 options. The session, titled Introduction to Higher Education and Pathways to the Professions, offered an engaging and informative overview of university life, course selection, and career planning.
The representative delivered a dynamic presentation that covered the benefits of higher education, how to choose the right course and university, and the realities of student life. Pupils were particularly interested in the interactive quiz and real-world examples that helped demystify the university experience.
A key highlight of the assembly was the introduction of Aston’s Pathways to the Professions programme. This initiative supports pupils in exploring careers in Medicine, Healthcare, Engineering, and other STEM fields through a structured programme of events, workshops, and mentoring.
Pupils left the assembly feeling motivated and better equipped to make informed decisions about their next steps. The school looks forward to continuing its partnership with Aston University to provide further opportunities for pupil development and aspiration.
