Eid and Easter
We hope that all families have been able to enjoy Eid, Easter and the recent school holidays, and that they everyone is looking forward to the upcoming bank holiday weekends. Below are some information and updates to guide you through the weeks ahead.
Strike Action
A reminder that schools in England will be disrupted by strike action on Thursday (this week) and Tuesday (next week). At Ark St Alban’s Academy we have agreed that the school will remain open for Year 11 and Year 13 and that the school day will run as normal for pupils in those year groups. For pupils in other year groups, their heads of year will be sharing with you and with them via email a range of activities for them to engage with while away from school.
Work Experience
Our school would like to be able to offer a work experience placement to every pupil in Year 10. This year, work experience will take place over the course of two days (longer where possible) on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th July. If you or someone you know is in a position to host a pupil on a work experience placement, please get in touch via careers@arkstalbans.org.

Year 6 Parent Information Event
On Thursday 18th May at 4pm we will be welcoming all of the Year 6 pupils and their families to the school to discuss the transition to Year 7.
Year 9 Parent Information Event
Despite the planned strike action, the planned Year 9 Parent Information Event will go ahead on Thursday 27th April (this week), starting at 3.30pm. This will be an opportunity for pupils and parents to learn more about preparing for Year 10 and plans for GCSE subjects.
Bank Holidays
The school will be closed to all pupils on the days of the two national bank holidays: Monday 1st May and Monday 8th May.
Community Group
A reminder that our parent and community group continues to meet on Thursday mornings with families welcome to arrive from 9.15am onwards.
