Ark St Alban’s Academy Sixth Form continues to lead the way in securing excellent results and destinations, with pupils celebrating this summer after achieving the best set of Year 13 results in the history of the school. 90% of pupils achieved a minimum of three C grades, an exceptionally high pass rate, and two-thirds achieved a minimum of three B grades – the type of grade profile required to gain places at the very best universities.
The grades achieved have led pupils to progress to a wide-range of competitive and aspirational destinations, including University College London, the University of Warwick, the University of Birmingham, and a highly sought-after degree-apprenticeship with Deloitte.
We’re incredibly proud of our A-Level Maths results. We are now one of the strongest providers of A-Level Maths in the city with over a third of our A-Level Maths pupils achieving an A or an A* and more than half achieving at least a grade B. We’re similarly proud that in our BTEC courses, no pupil received less than a distinction in any component of their overall result, and therefore have gained places at incredibly well-regarded universities.
There are a huge number of success stories to celebrate, including the following:
- Ismail Aboulala one of the school’s high-performing students, who earned A*AAA said: “I am delighted with my results and grateful to all my teachers who supported me during my studies. I am looking forward to taking on my next challenge.”
- Rahmah Mohammed achieved ABB in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and will be studying Medicine at the University of Birmingham
- Aiman Kamal achieved AAB in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and will also be studying Medicine at the University of Birmingham
- Mohammed Islam achieved A*AB in History, Sociology and Psychology and will be studying Psychology at the University of Birmingham
- Yazid Abdalla secured his place at the University of Birmingham to studying Accounting and Finance after achieving D*DD in the Extended Diploma in Business
- Ying He achieved the top grade in the Extended Diploma in Applied Science, D*D*D*, and will be studying Applied Medical Science at University College London
- Sayah Abdullah also achieved the top grade in the Extended Diploma in Applied Science, D*D*D*, and will be studying Pharmacy at Aston University
Guy Rimmer, Principal said: “Today’s results reflect the exceptional effort and progress made by our Year 13 students throughout their time at our sixth form.
As one of Birmingham’s top-performing sixth forms, Ark St Alban’s Academy continues to deliver strong outcomes, with students making excellent progress and achieving the qualifications needed to move on to leading universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing the success they will achieve in the future.”
