Some of our Year 8 pupils recently had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Get Patterned Content Clash Programme, a high-quality, employer-led initiative designed to develop confidence, teamwork, and key employability skills through engaging, real-world creative challenges.
Working in teams of four, pupils collaborated to create content for their chosen project, developing their communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills along the way. Throughout the programme, they had the unique opportunity to work with highly technical industry-standard equipment and learn directly from professionals across a range of creative disciplines.
As part of the programme, pupils also visited Aston University, where they participated in a valuable workplace encounter with professionals from the creative industries. During the visit, they gained insight into careers in Photography, Graphic Design and Music Production, learning first-hand about the skills, pathways, and opportunities available within these sectors. Each encounter provided pupils with practical experience and the chance to develop new technical and creative skills. Abbas was recognised for his overall participation and received a Nike gift voucher, which he was ecstatic about. The experience was both inspiring and enriching, helping pupils broaden their horizons and better understand the links between education and future careers. It provided meaningful encounters with employers and higher education, strongly supporting our Gatsby Benchmarks. We are grateful to everyone involved in making this opportunity possible for our pupils.

As part of Character and exploring the big question 'Where am I going next?' pupils are allowed to meaningfully engage with employers and apprenticeship providers so they can make well-informed decisions about their futures.
