Parent Update

You should by now have received a copy of the homework timetable for your child’s class. If you haven’t, please ask your child about it or get in touch with their Head of Year.

Remember, pupils have homework to complete every night. Missing or incomplete homework will result in them having to stay behind after-school to complete the homework.

Below you can see who in each year group achieved the highest XP (Sparx) and who answered the most questions correctly (Century) last week.

The dates for our parent information events for each year group are listed below. Each event will take place between 4-5pm. Remember, it is at these events that information about how to access the My Child At School (MCAS) App will be shared.

• Year 7, Thurs 5th October (this week)
• Year 12, Wednesday 11th October
• Year 8, Thurs 12th October
• Year 9, Thurs 19th October
• Year 13, Wednesday 25th October

Any families with pupils looking to join our school in Year 12 next year are encouraged to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 4th October at 4pm (this week).

A reminder that on Tuesday 17th October, all Ark schools will be closing for a teacher training day. We will be closed to pupils on this day.

Thank you for making sure that pupils have returned to school dressed smartly and wearing the correct school uniform. If you have any questions or would like further guidance about uniform, you can find our more on our uniform page.

Please also check that your child has all of the equipment that they require for school each day:

• Black pens
• Green pens
• Pencils
• Ruler
• Rubber
• Protractor
• Glue Stick
• Calculator

Clubs are continuing to run after school each day. You can find the schedule for what is happening each day on our enrichment page. Starting on Friday this week, two new music clubs will begin: a singing group and a rap collective.

Remember that all clubs take place between 3.00pm and 4.15pm and pupils do not need to sign-up in advance.
