We are one month into the school year and pupils have made an excellent start to the school year. I have enjoyed joining many parents at our information events looking through the work that pupils have done in their classrooms.
Below I have included information and updates to guide you through the weeks ahead, including reminders of the parent information events which are still to come.
Attendance
It is incredibly important that pupils attend school every day. Pupils should only be kept away from school if they have an illness which is so severe that it means that they cannot sit up and listen in a classroom. If you do choose to keep your child at home, it is very important that you call the school to let us know before 8am.
Last week, I visited many families at home because I was worried about missing children – children who were not at school and who the school had not had contact from their parents.
Homework
Remember, pupils have homework to complete every night. Missing or incomplete homework will result in them having to stay behind after-school to complete the homework.
Below you can see who in each year group achieved the highest XP (Sparx) and who answered the most questions correctly (Century) last week.

Parent Events
The dates for our parent information events for each year group are listed below. Each event will take place between 4-5pm. Remember, it is at these events that information about how to access the My Child At School (MCAS) App will be shared.

Sixth Form Open Evening

Training Day
A reminder that on Tuesday 17th October, all Ark schools will be closing for a teacher training day. We will be closed to pupils on this day.

Thank you for making sure that pupils have returned to school dressed smartly and wearing the correct school uniform. If you have any questions or would like further guidance about uniform, you can find our more on our uniform page.

Clubs & Enrichment
Clubs are continuing to run after school each day. You can find the schedule for what is happening each day on our enrichment page. Remember that all after-school clubs take place between 3.00pm and 4.15pm and pupils do not need to sign-up in advance.
